Heart and John Phoenix

This page is to pay tribute to River's wonderful and caring parents, Heart and John Phoenix. I know that they raised their children to be wonderful, beautiful people because it shows so much in River. They believe so much in their children and love them so much; it's so beautiful.

John: "We were flower children. We were full of faith and we loved everybody. I think the kids have learned that. I don't think there is any prejudice in their bones."

Heart: "When the wind blows, I see River. When the sun shines, I see River. When I look into someone's eyes and make a connection, I see River. To have death transformed into another way to look at life is his huge gift."

I really appreciate the both of them for treating their children as equals to them and giving them all of the love they have. I really hope to meet them someday and think of them often. I love you both.
